RB has a vision of a world where people live healthier and live better. Through its power brands Dettol, Lizol and Harpic, RB has long stood for hygiene and sanitation. In 2015, RB founded “Banega Swachh India” –  an ambitious 5-year programme designed to drive behaviour change towards hand hygiene and to improve sanitation facilities, supporting the development and maintenance of cleaner toilets across the country.  

Rob de Groot is a member of the Executive Committee of RB and has been the President of Hygiene Home since its creation in January 2018.

Under his leadership, RB’s Hygiene Home business works to Create A Cleaner World through commitments to raising hygiene standards globally and the creation of sustainable solutions across its portfolio of leading brands, including household names such as Harpic, Lysol, Mortein, Vanish, Finish and Air Wick.

Rob joined Benckiser in the Commercial Graduate programme in 1988. In his first years within the company, he held a number of roles of increasing responsibility in the fields of sales and marketing. In 1997, only 9 years after he first joined the company, he was promoted to General Manager for the Netherlands. In 1999 when Benckiser NV merged with Reckitt & Coleman to create Reckitt Benckiser (now RB), Rob led the integration of the 2 companies for Europe, before a rapid onward progression to Senior Vice President for Eastern Europe, in 2001.

Rob’s international career includes many pan-regional roles in marketing and general management, covering established and fast-developing countries and regions including Europe, North America, Russia & CIS, Australia and New Zealand. He has been based in the UK, New York, Germany and Hungary as well as his native Netherlands, where he is currently based.

Rob is passionate about driving growth while increasing positive social impact, and is known for leading international teams while championing continuous product and business model innovation.
